At the Bellevue Resort we helped with the organization of a seminar for the staff with the motto “Healing, Closure and Moving On”. Almost 100 people attended! We covered topics such as fear, resilience, trust in God and more, and among others we were able to show concrete methods of overcoming fear.

Im Hotel Bellevue haben wir für´s Personal ein Seminar mit dem Motto `Abschluss, Heilung und Forwärtsgehen`organisiert. Fast 100 Teilnehmer hatten wir! Wir haben dabei Themen wie Angst, Resilienz, Gottvertrauen und mehr gewählt, und unter anderem konkrete Wege aufgezeigt, wie man durch gezielte Methoden Ängste überwinden kann.  

Livelihood Programs - Entwicklungshilfe

Our livelihood programs have been up and running and are at full swing.
• We now hold every two days crochet classes with the mothers of the STEPS children and sell the finished products in the Bellevue resort.
• Some of our STEPS mothers bake bread, seaweed crackers & chips which are for sale at the resort,
• and we teach carpentry work and handyman to several men.

Unsere verschiedenen Entwicklungshilfe-Projekte sind voll im Gange.

• Wir halten nun alle zwei Tage Häkelkurse mit den Müttern der STEPS-Kinder und verkaufen die fertigen Produkte im Bellevue Resort.

• Einige unserer STEPS-Mütter backen Brot, Meeresalgencrackers und -chips, die zum Verkauf im Bellevue angeboten werden,

• und wir lehren junge Männer, einfache Schreiner- und Handwerkerarbeiten auszuführen.

STEPS Kindergarten Teacher Seminar

Manny was recently in Manila for a Kindergarten Teacher seminar. He shared the STEPS program with 10 new teachers. Their goal is to open 4 new STEPS centers in Metro Manila. - Jo war für eine Woche in Manila, um dort 10 Lehrer in unser STEPS Programm einzuführen. Sie haben vor, 4 neue STEPS Schulen in Metromanila aufzumachen!

3rd STEPS Group & Parents Seminar - 3.STEPS Gruppe und Eltern Seminar

Our 3rd group of 19 new STEPS children was enrolled last July 6, and with it we held another parents' seminar to ensure the parents participation in the education of their children. We believe that it is first and foremost the parent´s responsibility to make sure that their children get a good education, and we help them by pointing out how they can take an active part in helping their children learn. - 19 Kinder für eine 3. STEPS-Gruppe wurden am 6. Juli neu aufgenommen, und damit hielten wir auch ein neues Eltern-Seminar, um die Teilnahme der Eltern an der Erziehung und Schulung ihrer Kinder zu gewährleisten. Es ist unsere Überzeugung, dass es in erster Linie die Verantwortung der Eltern ist, sicher zu stellen, dass ihre Kinder eine gute Ausbildung erhalten, und wir helfen ihnen dabei, indem wir sie darauf hinweisen, wie sie ihre Kinder darin unterstützen können.

More Organic Farming Seminars - Mehr Seminare über Bio-Landbau

On June 26 we held another seminar for around 50 attendees with the the topic of Organic Farming and Effective Microorganism (EM) at Dauis municipality, Panglao island, with the mayor, Barangay representatives and farmers attending. - Am 26. Juni hielten wir nochmals ein Seminar für ca. 50 Teilnehmer, mit dem Thema Bio-Landbau und Effektiven Mikroorganismen (EM) in Dauis, Panglao. Der Bürgermeister, Gemeindevorsteher, Bauern, Vorsitzende des Agrikulturverbandes usw. waren anwesend.

Agricultural Seminars

A lot of the people in Panglao depend on the fishing industry. Since fishing has been reduced in recent years due to over-fishing, many of the fishermen families are looking for other ways to support their children. We have been looking into ways to help the poor families grow vegetables in the poor soil and have organized Agricultural seminars for them. - Ein großer Teil der Menschen in Panglao sind von der Fischindustrie abhängig. Da Fischfang sich in den letzten Jahren aufgrund der Überfischung reduziert hat, sind viele der Fischerfamilien auf der Suche, andere Wege zu finden, ihre Kinder zu ernähren. Wir suchen nach Möglichkeiten, in der kahlen Panglaoerde Gemüse anzupflanzen, und organisieren Agrikulturseminare für sie.

Healing Seminar in Doljo, Panglao

On May 1st, a team of 11 mostly young full-time volunteers from South-Africa and Thailand came to hold a Healing Seminar for the people of Doljo. The day was spent in teaching, doing skits to simplify what was being taught, praying for physical and spiritual healing and counseling the attendees. 

Am 1. Mai kam ein 11-köpfiges Team aus Südafrika und Thailand, um in unserer Mission in Doljo über Heilung und Gebet zu lehren. Die on-fire jugendlichen Volunteers brachten die Themen in ihren Schauspielen sehr gut herüber, und ihre Gebete für körperliche und seelische Heilung waren voller Power!

Chris had been addicted to heavy drugs for 7 years. Once Jesus took over his life, he was able to let go of his addiction and give his life to the Lord. Ever since he's been teaching people about the love and healing power of Christ. - Chris war 7 Jahre lang drogensüchtig. Als er Jesus die Führerschaft seines Lebens übergab, liess er von den harten Drogen ab und lehrt jetzt andere über die Macht und Liebe Jesus.

 Phillip just recently turned himself over to a fulfilling life of teaching Jesus and healing people. - Phillip hat vor kurzem erst eine Umwandlung gehabt und lebt jetzt ein aufopferndes, aber erfülltes Leben.

 Terez grew up with her missionary parents in a Christian community. After having tried a secular lifestyle for a while, she returned to her roots and is teaching other young people the way to a fulfilling life with Jesus. - Terez ist in einer christlichen Gemeinschaft aufgewachsen. Mit 18 verliess sie ihr behütetes Zuhause, um ihre eigenen Wege zu gehen. Nach vielen Jahren und harten Erfahrungen kehrte sie wieder zu ihren Wurzeln zurück und lehrt jetzt anderen Jugendlichen die Wege zu einem erfüllten Leben mit Jesus.

 Ryon and Chris are praying for Angel´s mom, who is partially paralyzed. - Ryon und Chris beten für Angel´s Mutter; sie ist halbseitig gelähmt.

 Ryon is also a young follower of Christ's teachings. - Ryon folgt auch erst seit kurzem in Jesus´ Fussstapfen.

Skits and dramas help simplify the teachings. - Kurze Dramatisierungen helfen den Teilnehmern, den Lehrstoff besser zu verstehen.

 Debbie is explaining the skit, and Manny is helping with the translation. - Debbie erklärt das Schauspiel, während Jo übersetzt.

STEPS 2nd Group - STEPS zweite Gruppe

March 2, 2012: Today we enrolled another group of 20 children. Seminars to help the parents realize their responsibilities and understand and help with the curriculum were held in the afternoons this week, while the children are being taught in the mornings. - 2. März 2012: Heute haben sich nocheinmal etwa 20 Kinder für das STEPS Programm eingeschrieben. Wir hielten an Nachmittagen Seminare für die Eltern und am Morgen lehren wir jetzt 40 Kinder in 2 Gruppen.

Some of the children from the first group are helping to teach the new group - Kinder aus der ersten Gruppe helfen beim Unterricht der zweiten Gruppe.

 A lot of action is required to keep the young children happy and inspired - Die Kinder lernen gern wenn sie nicht immer nur sitzen müssen.

 The first weeks we repeat the numbers and the alphabet in song many times during classes - Die ersten Wochen wiederholen wir öfters das Alphabet und die Zahlen in Liederform.
