STEPS Summer School - STEPS Sommerunterricht

End of April we started a one-month summer course for preschoolers from Doljo. 34 students are currently attending the classes, and after one week only, the children already have started reading the first book of our Early Bird Reader series. We also conducted teaching seminars for the parents of the students to get them more involved in their child’s education.

Ende April haben wir mit einem einmonatigen Sommerkurs für 34 Kindergärtner in Doljo begonnen, und nach nur einer Woche können ein paar der Kleinen das erste Buch schon lesen. Wie üblich haben wir unseren Kurs mit einem Einführungsseminar für die Eltern angefanen. Wir erlangen damit mehr Initiative und Mitarbeit der Eltern.

Cutting the Ribbon - Haussegnung

We just recently moved to our newly-built mission center in Doljo, Panglao where we celebrated our soft opening and ribbon cutting ceremony with representatives from the governor’s office and Mr. Ryan Chan from Bellevue Hotel and Resort. After a prayer of blessing our STEPS students performed a few songs and showcased their reading for the visitors.

Letzten Sonntag sind wir jetzt endgültig in unser neues Missionszentrum/Heim in Doljo, ganz am Ende von Panglao, eingezogen. Am Montag feierten wir die auf den Philippinen traditionelle Haussegnung mit katholischem Pfarrer, Delegierten vom Governeurbüro und Ryan Chan, Sohn von Herrn Johnny Chan. Am Freitag dann wurde die Eröffnung des Bellevue Pavillions gefeiert, wo wir für ein paar Minuten unsere Projekte in Bohol vorstellten. Dabei waren Governeur, Deutscher Botschafter, Presse u.s.w. anwesend.
